The 2nd Annual Charity Art Auction

The Artists in the Attic are pleased to announce our upcoming auction is
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 23

from 6 - 9 p.m.
This year's recipient will be the Cinema Arts Centre in Huntington. A 501(c)3 organization, the Cinema's mission is to bring the best in cinematic artistry to Long Island and expand the awareness and consciousness of our community. You can visit their website at http://www.cinemaartscentre.org/.

Last year's auction for the Heckscher Museum of Art was a huge success and gave us the chance to invite along some guest artists to join in the celebration. We'd like to continue with that tradition, and invite everyone to join us for a fabulous night of refreshments, raffles and of course some fantastic art work. Paintings, sculpture, photography and maybe a surprise* or two will be available for bidding. Although the bidding starts at 6 p.m., all work will be available for preview from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. the day of the event.

So remember kids, keep the spirit of art and film alive... support your local artists and filmmakers. Important note: the auction is a one-night only event. All pieces will be sold that night so don't forget those wallets, folks.

Art & Antiques & Auctions on the Avenue... perfect!

Speaking of surprises...who saw the magical mystery motion machine in this year's Unity in the Community parade?

Yay...it's time!

Lots to do this Attic season... the silent auction, the Huntington Day parade, a Heckscher museum tour... before we get into overdrive, let's all come out for a fine First Friday Reception. When would that be, you ask? Why on September 10 of course, from 6-8 p.m. Newsday may have been a bit overzealous in our return, but I promise dear art lovers, this is the date! And to celebrate the occasion, Serenade Duo will be joining us for a fantastic performance. For a preview, feel free to visit their website: www.serenadeduo.com

See you on the 10th...

Keep the light on...

We'll be back in the fall for the return of our First Friday events (where some great local musicians may be stopping by), the Unity in the Community parade and carnival, our 2nd Annual Charity Art Auction, and an open studio tour with the Hecksher Museum...
Lots to come, so stay tuned.

Summer Second Saturday

Have you heard the news? June 12 is right around the corner... time for another Second Saturday event!
Be sure to stop by on this lovely summer evening from 5 -7 p.m. And check back for news about our 2nd Annual Charity Art Auction this fall AND the Huntington Station Day Parade and Carnival right across the street...hmmm what would an Artists in the Attic parade float look like?

Furry Friends First Friday

Thanks to all those who came out last night to support The Forgotten Friends of Long Island. Over $200 was raised and the four-legged recipients are thrilled! And if you weren't able to make it last night, you can always visit their website to make a donation.
Pictured at a raffle station are, from left, Carol Friedenberg (vice president FFLI) and Loretta Rinaldo (president FFLI).
Remember, future open studio events will take place on the SECOND SATURDAY of each month from 6-8 p.m.

Art & Antiques (and Animals!) on the Avenue...

I know, I know...it's Second Saturdays now. But, for this special event, The Artists in the Attic couldn't resist just one more First Friday, May 7 from 6-8 p.m. And what is this special event? Does it have something to do with that picture of the dog? You betchya! Volunteers from the fantastic animal rescue group Forgotten Friends of Long Island (visit their website at http://www.forgottenfriendsoflongisland.org/) will be on hand with info AND raffle baskets(!) for this charitable fundraising event. And, 10% of all artists' sales that night will also go to the cause. So come on down, bring your friends, and help some great folks help some great animals.
Otis personally invites you.

Nope, it's not April Fool's...

Come on out to some springtime splendor on SATURDAY, April 10 from 5-7 p.m. What? But that's not a First Friday? Exactly...The Artists in the Attic is trying something new, won't you join us for Second Saturdays? Yankee Peddler Antiques will be open for business downstairs and the Artists will have a lovely wine and cheese reception upstairs with special musical guests. So, move on down a week and a day for Second Saturdays.
